I'm looking for an experienced elderly care provider for my father. At times he needs very little assistance, other times he needs help with bathing, light cleaning, meal prep, etc. He's been living independently but after some recent illnesses he's more dependent, and forgetful. We had him in assisted living but he was too high functioning to justify the $5k a month price, but I have stairs and limited space at my place. We are trialing him at an extended stay to determine if he would benefit from a regular apartment or 55+. I work full time and have kids so I would like someone to help him out a few hours a day, a few days a week. It's been a tough adjustment going from being completely independent to needing assistance, so I would appreciate patience and a sense of humor in the caregiver we choose.
