About who needs care: Mother uses a walker, needs help with personal care, meals, assistance with care coordination. Father has some health issues but needs respite as a caregiver. About the care needs: Someone who is personable and willing to assist as needed, not complete tasks on a checklist. Basic medical understanding and ability to treat patient with more than basic first aide. Someone who is firm but not controlling needs to be able to support the patient without backing down when given resistance but does not order the patient around. The person should not be a wallflower nor a drill sergeant Needs to be able to help with mobility and lift the patient to a standing position. May need to assist with daily care and dressing. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
