About who needs care: She recently suffered a stroke. It didn't affect her brain, but she is in a wheelchair. She can do some things by herself, but it is very difficult and very taxing on her. Before her stroke, C liked talking on the phone and talking to family members. She also liked going to the grocery store and sitting in the park. C loves going to eat out, too. C has incontinence, so small loads of laundry will need to be done daily. Encouraging C to come out of her room and eat lunch in the kitchen with her. Helping C to use her walker to walk down the hallway. Being good company for C, spend time with her. Everything else won't be done daily, just whenever she needs it. Help with bathing/shower. Washing her hair. Cooking a few southern style meals for C. About the care needs: C does better with someone who is a good listener. Someone who has a very calm personality. The person must be very good at following instructions and being directed. Person must be a Certified Home Healthcare Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in order for Long Term Care Insurance to pay. Should be dog-friendly and very kind. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
