About who needs care: My mother has early Alzheimer's. My father is in constant pain and is becoming forgetful. He needs time to himself and time to heal and cannot care for my mother on a full-time basis any longer. Ideally, they would need someone to come in for a few hours to get their medications organized, make sure they have taken their meds properly, provide my mother with a companion to engage in conversations with her, and even get her out and about (may or may not include driving them to their appointments). Each day should be the same structured routine if possible. About the care needs: Someone who is caring and patient, yet assertive when necessary. They must have experience with Alzheimer's patients and is prepared to introduce new ideas to my mother in a way that will entice her to try new things and not further isolate herself. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
