About who needs care: My grandfather has dementia. He starts his morning off needing to get dressed, brush his teeth and eating breakfast around noon. At breakfast we give him his eye drops and medication for the day. We also fix his breakfast. After this he goes to the restroom if needed and he will watch tv and nap. During this time the only thing we would need help with is occasional conversations and help getting to the restroom if needed. This is what he does until 5 p.m. with an occasional snack. Most times dinner will already be fixed so at 5 p.m. we will get him to the dinner table and warm up his dinner. He will eat, take his medication, use the restroom and rest until he says he is ready for bed. He loves to talk about his times in the country growing up and his family. About the care needs: Someone who is nice, patient, loving and can hold a conversation. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
