About who needs care: Iris is hard of hearing and experiences pain in her hips, knees and feet. She has osteoarthritis and only 10% of her stomach is left. She loves to garden. She knows flowers and vegetables as well as anyone. She cans the veggies she grows in her garden and those that friends give her. Iris starts her day with coffee and breakfast. She tries not to make early appointments, preferring those after 10:00. She needs a snack around 10:30 and lunch around noon or 12:30. She takes an afternoon nap and has some coffee with a snack around 4:00 and supper about 5:30. She enjoys sweets, watching the news and reading the newspaper in the evenings. She can be short-tempered and impatient. About the care needs: She needs a patient listener. Love of gardening would be beneficial. Needs hearing aids cleaned often and sometimes needs computer assistance. Needs help identifying scams. Transportation to appts will be helpful, though she still drives. Need someone tolerant of hoarding. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
