About who needs care: My brother is a paraplegic who is legally blind and hard of hearing. He was recently released from long term care for bed sores that are still on going. We are awaiting a bed and in home health to assist with caring for the wounds and physical therapy. My brother loves to cook, bake, draw, write poetry and participate in Sunday church services. He needs help in all aspects right now, but we are hopeful he will regain his strength with the assistance of more in home care. My brother was independent and living on his own and working for Publix for over 23 years. He recently retired and has become very depressed which of caused his bed sores and he has been in the hospital since Christmas Eve just coming home this Thursday, 3/6. About the care needs: My brother does not talk much with people he does not know. He will need someone to draw him out and really invest in getting to know him and getting him to speak. He will also need help with encouragement on his ability to get better as he is in a depressed state. We are treating that at present.
