About the care needs: Dad is in his 80s and my mom passed away 2 years ago. He is still struggling with the grief and lives alone. He is still functioning independently (grocery shopping, cooking, taking care of the house, etc), but he's slowing down and his memory is gradually getting worse. Ideally, we would start with someone who could come a few days a week in the morning and help primarily with cooking/prepping a couple of meals for him to have that day, and light housekeeping, keeping the kitchen organized, etc and generally checking in with him regularly to make sure he interacts with someone and is doing ok. Ideally he could get to know one reliable person and build trust gradually like this at first so that she could then help more as needed as he gets older and might need more types of support at home.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
