About who needs care: Jim is an 88-year-old grandfather of 7 ( + 1 deceased) and great grandfather of 3 and is relocating from NJ to FL. Jim is a talkative coherent gentle widower who enjoys discussing major events in world history, his personal career from 1965-2005, (think TV series MADmen), he was born and raised in Connecticut, and retired in New Jersey. He is the oldest of 5 siblings with brother in New Jersey, a sister in Massachusetts, and the other serviving sibling in South Carolina. He is not currently very active as he has 1 bad knee and uses a walker. He does not do steps, but when he could he enjoyed walking in a pool. He can currently get in and out of vehicles and enjoys outings and grocery shopping. Jim enjoys mealtimes, football games on TV, Fox News, and chatting with people the most . About the care needs: Lifelong advid news reader and current event consumer and able to enjoy a conversation about current events. Encouraging Jim to use his walker and couch peddles (stationary bike for seniors). Willing to enjoy a meal with him. We can have the meals prepped and ready to be placed in toaster oven or microwave. Someone willing to drive him to local Senior Centers with activities would be a plus, especially the ones that serve the senior lunch meal. He has been living in an independent living community in New Jersey and is used to having more peers his own age around. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
