Dad is recovering from a stroke. He is physically okay but now has severe vascular dementia. He is friendly and loves to chat about "the old days." His reading/writing were heavily impacted but is improving. He is a Vietnam vet. Blood pressure checks and emptying Foley catheter bag are a must. He needs LOTS of prompting and reminders for things like showering, appointments, cleaning himself, denture care. He struggles with things like using the TV remote and coffee maker. He loves going out for breakfast. Medication Prompting, Light Housekeeping, Help Staying Physically Active, Bathing / Dressing, Meal Preparation, Companionship, Errands / Shopping, Transportation. Medication management is required. Stimulating his memory and brain with games and provided activities is a must.
