About who needs care: Linda has dementia, hypertension, sciatica, and balance issues. She likes to keep busy but since a fell required hip replacement, it's been a slow healing process that aggravated her sciatic nerve and it's been difficult for her to get comfortable and to sleep sometimes. She likes to color and watch TV, and has enjoyed performing household duties and puzzles in the past but has either lacked interest or is not physically able to manage them. She could use help being safely guided to do some of the things she once did. She needs reminders as she has dementia but she is still quite sharp. Working with her daughter to find structure in her day would be good for her. As of now, she wakes up and tidy's her bed, brushes her teeth and hair, and sits in the living room until 6:30 or 7. She then either reads the Bible or goes in the kitchen to help with breakfast duties and taking her dog out. After breakfast, she sits in the living room to color until around 10 or 11 a.m. when the TV is turned on. About that times she uses the restroom and takes the dog out. She may sit and watch TV the rest of the day unless someone gives her an activity or she may color or work on a crossword puzzle or two. She has lunch brought to her around 1 p.m. and dinner around 5:30 p.m. She'll take the dog out around 3 or 4 and again before bed, which can vary between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
