About who needs care: My 73-year-old diabetic mother has had a stroke on the left side and is living independently with a roommate. She needs to have more stimulation but also has difficulty walking as it is still painful and she is recovering from a hip surgery. She likes music and going out to eat. She is limited on funds, but also has been told shes not allowed to drive by her doctors and she has taken public transportation for some doctors appointments, think transportation to doctors appointments would be better. About the care needs: my mom may need someone skilled in being able to lift or transfer from bed to wheelchair and in and out of a car. She also has an avid preference to travel as well as enjoy food and listen to music. I believe she may be starved for some female companionship as her live-in roommate is male. My mother also likes things like astronomy, genealogy, and she is originally from Massachusetts. She has a pretty good sense of humor and has a lot of cats in her house. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
