About who needs care: Lives in an ALF but still needs one on one attention. Has Alzheimers with challenging behavior. Also has diabetes and COPD. Needs light cleaning, take him to activities within the ALF (he wont go on his own). Maybe take to park or lunch somewhere to get him some activities. Help keep his phone charged and available. Make sure eating food the ALF provides by walking to dining room or putting food brought to his room on a plate and heat if needed. Will need to build relationship with him which is challenging. About the care needs: Needs understanding of dementia and related behavior profile. Someone with thick skin who can handle volatile behavior without escalating. Good at calming, reassuring, deescalating upset people. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
