My mother has Parkinson's Disease and recently had an emergency hip replacement surgery post-fall. She is navigating her recovery and we are needing help throughout the day with things like transfers in and out of bed, self care, following through on her physical therapy exercises, going for walks, conversation, and helping making her recovery as full and complete as possible. My mom loves poetry, music, and art. She's great with word games and would love to play scrabble or paint with someone. Sometimes, when doing transfers or PT exercises, she can get fearful of the pain or of falling, so someone strong who can both remain calm, but gently + firmly help her to push through is important. Her medicine schedule, eating and exercises are all really important, so someone who feels comfortable keeping her on her routine is vital.
