We're looking for a kind, patient individual to spend time with our mother, a spirited woman who enjoys visiting thrift stores and sharing her thoughts and talking to strangers. Our mother is in the early stages of dementia, though she is unaware of her condition and resists traditional care. She often talks about personal challenges, some of which stem from delusions, and needs someone who can listen with empathy and understanding. This role is about creating a genuine friendship and providing support in a way that feels natural and unforced. What We're Looking For: Patience and Understanding: Someone who can compassionately listen to her concerns, even when they're not based in reality. Part-Time Hours: Initially 4 to 8 hours per week, with the potential for more as trust is built.
