About who needs care: Dad has dementia. He has good days and bad days! He is retired military and was strongly involved in the VFW after retiring he was commander and chief for many years as well as a Chaplain. He enjoys talking about those days as well as his job working for the government. He has a Foley catheter at this time and will probably have to continue to. He can not walk on his own he uses a walker and wheel chair since his stroke 2 months ago. He will have hospice care Monday thru Friday for 1 hour in the mornings at this point when he returns home from the rehab. He will need help to be transferred from his wheelchair chair if he can not use his walker at times. Most of the time it would just keeping an eye on him so that he doesnt hurt himself and companionship. About the care needs: Someone with an out going personality, caring and that understands patients with dementia that will not take things he might say at times personally. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
