About who needs care: High blood pressure, severe back pain, chronic migraines, anxiety/depression, I had two children - they have passed, my son from an accident and daughter from cancer. I can't describe the negative effect this has caused in my life. I have arthritis in my hands and knees. There are days when just getting dressed is almost impossible. I have chronic alcoholism and dealt with opiate addiction for 6 years after I had my hip replaced. I've been diagnosed with COPD and asthma. Together these maladies make it so difficult that I can't shop for myself or clean the apartment. About the care needs: Someone that knows what it means to be a nurse or caregiver. I worked as an assistant for nurses in a mental health hospital. Patience and kindness can be as important as knowing the technical side of the job. Age and race are irrelevant to me. Experience along with some strength is important. I don't play cards, etc. but I like being outside, a walk in the woods are what I would like to do. When the weather is bad I like to cook. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
