Her ideal day begins with a shower in the morning, followed by breakfast (or sometimes brunch, if she eats a bit later). She enjoys simple meals, such as a sandwich, and all meals that need to be heated will already be prepared and placed in a bowl for convenience. She takes a nap around 12:00-1:00 p.m. in her recliner and can have a snack before/after her nap. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in dementia care who understands the unique needs of older adults with cognitive decline. Patience, empathy, and a gentle approach are essential for her well-being and comfort. Additionally, the caregiver must be tech-savvy and comfortable using smart TVs and other devices, as my grandmother enjoys watching her favorite shows and needs assistance navigating the technology. We also have a cat and one bird (which is kept in its cage), so the caregiver should be comfortable around pets. My grandmother takes medication daily, which has already been placed in a medication holder for ease of administration.
