We are looking for a member of the care team for an 88-year-old woman who lives in assisted living, but spends each afternoon in her West Hartford home. She has dementia, complicated by a lifelong hearing disability. (She is a great lip reader, and can hear a slight bit with her hearing aids. ) Because of recent falls and her ongoing cognitive challenges, it is no longer safe for her to spend afternoons in her home alone. We are looking for an additional carer ( to take her to and from the nearby assisted living facility to her home, and spend afternoons with her at her home or in the assisted living facility. The job will require five hours a day, two or three days a week, including Wednesdays and some weekend days as well. If you are a caring, empathetic person with experience dealing with dementia, let's talk.
