About the job
About who needs care: Dad has developed blindness in one eye and is feeling insecure about driving himself. As he adjusts to newly blind eye, he wants to stay active in town. He likes to go to his favorite breakfast spot. He occasionally wants to eat out to lunch at a restaurant in Bethel. He may sometimes need a drive to a doctor's appointment in Fairfield. Dad is an engineer by training and loves reading text books on physics, acoustics and other scientific laws. He is super intelligent and enjoys high fidelity audio systems that he has designed and built himself. Dad has very strange and irregular sleep patterns. Wakes at 9 am, eats at 10am, has lunch at 1 p.m. and naps from 3 - 4:30, has dinner at 7 or 8 p.m. and sleeps from 9 until 2 a.m. and is awake until 4:30 a.m. and sleeps until 10a. He is very frugal and likes to dress like a very humble man. About the care needs: I think being male is helpful. He doesn't need anyone doting. If the person dropped him in town at his breakfast spot and came to get him after an hour, that would be great. Maybe 3 times a week. He sometimes has interest in going to tag sales. They should be willing to listen to dad lecture about science. If they had similar interests that would be great. but not necessary, dad doesn't like in sincere people or people who engage in a lot of idle talk. But, if they hit if off, great. Services needed include: transportation.
