My wife is a spunky 69-year-old who still thinks she's 59! She was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease before we moved from New Orleans to CT 5 years ago. Because it was right before COVID, we didn't get a chance to meet any new people, so it's been tough on her. As she states, "I have a car, I just need someone to drive me!" If you only have a few hours a couple days a week, that's perfect! All she needs is some companionship-she wants to finish her legacy book, introduce her to CT-she likes to talk, errand running-get her meds/grocery shopping/appointments, etc. Way more COMPANIONSHIP than care!! Maybe some care prompting but right now (& for the next few years), she needs and eye on her and help doing the things you would do and going the places you would go if you and your spouse were a team!
