About who needs care: My Sister Joyce is the one in need of care and companionship. She is disabled, has been in 9 car accidents and had a failed back surgery. She is very apprehensive about hiring a caregiver because she has had a very bad experience with one in the past. She tends to make friends with her caregivers which could open the door to her being taken advantage of, so we're extremely cautious about who fills these shoes. About the care needs: She is very trusting to a fault. She loves her plants and her jewelry. She is very friendly; she tends to be a bit of a hoarder and could use someone skilled in helping her to realize that she needs to part with a few things to live in her apartment comfortably. She does fall from time to time as she has neuropathy in her feet and legs, so I'm not sure exactly how to handle the situation just yet. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
