We are looking for light in-home care for my mom who is recovering from a stroke. Likely looking for 2 hours per day help either in the mornings or evenings around breakfast or dinner - for the next 2-3 weeks. Mom my is 71. Before the stroke she was fully independent, living on her own, and driving. She is recovering well, talking well, and walking well - but with a walker. She is weak in her right arm and right leg which are the main reasons help is needed. Cognitively she is 100%. The stroke happened Thursday 11/7. We are looking for help with: - Showering / bathing (she can do this fully on her own today, but for safety it would be best to have someone with her) - Getting dressed / undressed (she's moving well but having trouble with fine motor skills like tying shoes) - Household tasks (e. g. taking out the trash, loading dishwasher) - Light meal prep (cooking not required, but simple help like microwaving or putting premade meals in the oven). Ideal qualifications are: - Nurse, nurse assistant, or nursing student - Experience with stroke (her symptoms are not severe) - Ok with puppies - she has a hypoallergenic CavaPoo - currently the dog is at my brother's house but with help we'd love to bring him back home soon.
