About who needs care: My mom is currently receiving hospice care and lives in our home. I am her primary caregiver, but I'm need to have breaks as I still work full time. She in end stage liver failure from an autoimmune disease and needs assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, getting meals, etc. She needs to be transported via wheelchair. She love sewing, quilting, and cooking but is no longer to do those things. Due to her illness, she is starting to have memory problems and cannot hear well. About the care needs: My mom would like someone who is fairly outgoing and can have a conversation at times, but she also sleeps a lot. She loves to tell stories about her life, so a good listener would be nice. Anyone interested in cooking, sewing, quilting, or knitting, would be a plus. She may also enjoy help with transcribing her life stories as she has been wanting to finish her Story Worth book. My mom is also a feminist and progressive, so someone with similar views would be best. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
