About who needs care: Dad is 85, has metastatic prostate CA, and my husband is the sole caregiver currently. Looking for respite care for Dad on Saturdays, and possible transportation assistance with my husband for his chemo treatments and other appointments if not able to get wheelchair transport. Dad will do best if it's the same person, to minimize his anxiety. About the care needs: Needs to be calm, because too much energy causes anxiety. Dad is hard of hearing!!! The person must be patient, and have a sense of humor. Dad is just getting weaker, and will most likely be going hospice care soon, so the person must be compassionate as well. Toileting and turning/rotating in bed are the most needed cares right now. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
