About who needs care: Dad has moderate Parkinsons and still works as a as an engineer but currently has a bit of a back injury and is using a walker for the first time this week. Tasks we are looking for really include cooking a hearty breakfast, which when I do it, it only takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Then doing the dishes for that and then ensuring that he has lunch ordered or made as well as something for dinner. Both other meals can be ordered out as he prefers that but the morning breakfast is very important. Physically, he can take care of himself he showers washes his own clothes bathes and groomed himself just fine, but really needs help on ensuring that he has food prepared. Has enough food in the house and has meals ready to go and the house is tidied after him because he used to do it and he has a hard time doing it now. Ideally someone would arrive around 8 a.m. and could even leave as early as 1130 12 p.m. once lunch is able to be ordered. Kitchen is tidied up dishes are done and perhaps a load or two of laundry but the important thing is consistency and daily help. As of now he hopes to return to work and would likely need a ride. Were not quite there yet. We are not quite there yet but this help could potentially drive him about 15 minutes each way around 8:30 a.m. and pick him up around 11:30 a.m. But again that is for potentially in the future. About the care needs: Someone who understands Parkinsons. Someone who is a good cook and can whip up killer eggs, and a yummy breakfast and is quick swift efficient. And doesnt mind a little local driving when the time comes. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
