About who needs care: Paranoid schizophrenia About the care needs: A mature (45-55) female who has some training or at least awareness of helping a mentally ill person who is physically able to care for his basic life skills, self care, shopping for food, and other necessities, drives his own car, has grown up in Marin County, has completed his undergrad degree and also has completed two AAs in health and fitness, is well-travelled. He was diagnosed with a thought disorder in 1986-87 and has been in several treatment centers in for close to 20 years and was discharged in 2020 for health and safety reasons. He has been living independently with a live-in minder/caregiver from that time on, but that person has left the job recently and we are keen to find a suitable replacement. He is my son. We think as a family that a woman might be more suitable but if a male candidate meets essential needs, then we would be satisfied. Services needed include: companionship.
