About the job
About who needs care: My father Frank is an 84-year-old male that recently had a couple falls and is requiring part-time care while my fiance and I work. He is currently taking cardiac/blood thinners and COPD medications. He is using a walker and requires some assistance transferring. Some assistance with bathing, toileting, and dressing. He needs encouragement to get up and move around and use the restroom. He would lay in bed all day if he could :) He is hearing impairs and has a hearing aid. His appetite has been lacking and has been drinking meal replacement shakes for most meals with minimal snacking. He likes Chinese food (Kung Pao Shrimp-spicy). He spends most of the day watching TV (Action and Western) He does enjoy reading, but not so much recently. He is still adjusting to staying with me and regaining his independence. He is an early riser around 5am, but takes multiple naps throughout the day. He is regaining his energy and strength slowly but surely. About the care needs: My dad has a sense of humor and is always cracking jokes to lighten the mood. He needs someone how is patient and willing just to hang out and watch shows/chat. He wants to be independent and sometimes rushes when doing things. He is not very active. He has been living alone for over 30 years and is a homebody. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
