About who needs care: My mom is 84 and legally blind and very hard of hearing so needs a patient companion who would be willing to put together her lunch, check her blood sugar, and keep her company for a few hours in the afternoon several days a week. Ideally once a week you could take her shopping for groceries or to a local thrift shop (one of her favorite activities) or visiting with neighbors in her elderly living community. She is very social but is feeling lonely because she can no longer wander around to visit friends or run errands on her own. About the care needs: Would prefer a very patient female helper who has experience with dementia patients. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
