About the job
About who needs care: I am undergoing surgery on July 1st. I will need someone to care for me for 2-3 days following the surgery. I will most likely be released from the hospital on either July 1 or July 2, so I will need some flexibility in start date from my care giver. I will need someone to monitor me through the first night following my release from the hospital, and will need help with mobility, basic tasks, getting to and from the bathroom, receiving, setting up, and clearing meals that I will order in, and other basic tasks. I will need someone to help me with the basics from late morning or early afternoon through the early evening for the subsequent couple of days, but will not need help overnight after the first night. About the care needs: I am interested in having someone who is capable, helpful, cheerful, good humored, and resourceful. Someone who genuinely enjoys and gets satisfaction working as a caregiver,, enjoys conversation but is also find tending to themselves if I need quiet and rest. The person needs to be comfortable giving me any assistance I might need getting to and from the bathroom, possibly giving me help with bathing, and reminding me when it is time to take my medications during the immediate post operative care period. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
