Seeking Part-time Senior Care Provider In San Diego

About who needs care: J is a 47 year old Aussie living with Lou Gehrig's Disease in Ocean Beach San Diego, CA. We are looking for somebody physically able to assist with walking, maintain cleanliness in the household and help J with general tasks around the house. He is a very kind and funny man, very easy to get along with. It is difficult for him to communicate due to throat paralysis, so there is a small learning curve in the speech aspect, however in my experience I learned quickly and we have engaging and deep conversations as his mind is very sharp despite his physical condition. My usual work flow is arrive at 8-8:30am while J is at the coffee shop in his electric wheelchair. I begin by settling in, then move on to general housekeeping things from a list he sends over. He usually arrives home at 10-10:30am. We catch up, then he either goes into his sauna, or straight to the outdoor cold shower. (He loves the cold!) Then, once dryed off and moisturized we enjoy the sunshine for an hour or so depending on the weather. If it's nice out, we'll spend more time outside. Then around 12-1pm we assist him inside on the couch and watch some TV or listen to music and burn some incense. He might have a small amount of solid food, mostly liquid drinks that he concocts. And we hang out for the rest of the afternoon, I do whatever tasks need to be done to keep the place clean (its a small beach cottage so not too demanding), and the shift is over at 4pm when the evening caregiver arrives. This is a pretty typical day, sometimes on Friday's he goes to an acupuncturist in PB. We are needing assistance on the weekends (Saturday Sunday is priority and if possible, Fridays) starting as soon as possible. J is a laid back person. Before his symptoms, he was an avid surfer and a voracious world traveler! He likes to watch travel documentaries, philosophy discussions, and music videos. He loves learning new things and having meaningful discussion, so his ideal caregiver would be a creative, physically fit person (Male or Female), who enjoys hanging out and spending quality time, likes to garden and be in the dirt, talk about cool gardening techniques, etc. No super specialized skills required! Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
