About who needs care: My grandmother is mentally fit, intelligent & kind, but she has a bad knee that makes it hard for her to walk and a bad shoulder. When she goes to the grocery store she can only carry & bring home one small bag of groceries. I'd like someone to pick her up, take her to the grocery store, and help her get groceries, and bring them inside/help put them away. And then sit with her for a bit once she's home again, visit. She watches a lot of TV due to physical restrictions and loves travel programs and British murder mysteries. When young she was very active, singing in the choir, camping, and traveling to many different countries. She is well-read, loves good food, as well as action and samurai movies. She's spiritual, appreciating poetry and introspection. She's very interesting & good natured; would love to find someone with similar interests. About the care needs: I think someone that likes to talk, but can also be receptive, quiet and listen. Someone that enjoys classical music. Someone that likes getting to know people, that is warm & thoughtful, that likes to read but also likes to laugh/has a good sense of humor. Someone that can take an interest in British mysteries is a plus. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
