About who needs care: My father was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and shows all of the symptoms, falling, dizziness, confusion, difficulty speaking. My mother is his primary caregiver but she is also in her 70's and needs help. In the mornings, he needs help getting out of bed, bathrooming, dressing, changing bedding if there was a leak in his overnight diaper, some assistance with eating, and then he usually takes a nap on the couch. His hobbies include his garden, cooking, wine-making, watching news programs and action adventure movies/shows and he is a big Ferrari and Formula 1 fan. We recently took him to Austin to watch the races. About the care needs: It would be nice to have someone who speaks English (or Italian) so my parents can communicate with them easily, someone who is warm and friendly and upbeat. Someone who is not timid about joining into their regular routine and helping out. They also need to be a bit strong as my dad weighs about 200lbs. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
