Assistance In The Home For My 37 Yr Old Brother: Anderson

About who needs care: My brother has brain cancer. At this present time we are looking for someone to be with him while his wife is at work. One of our parents would also be there with him, but they are older and unable to help him move around. He is currently unable to walk on his own so needs help getting from his lift recliner into a transfer chair to use the bathroom. Our parents will be there to help with anything they can, but cannot manage his weight and do not know how to lift him properly. There might also be times when his wife D assistance, but at the present time she is doing pretty darn good. D mainly spends his time watching tv, gaming (if he feels up to it) and working on his speech, as he is also suffering from aphasia. He is cognitively sharp as a tack and can write things down if needed. About the care needs: Someone who is friendly and upbeat, and reassuring. Someone who will treat him like a friend, and not "mother" or "baby" him. We are looking for someone who will be able to help him stand from a his lift recliner (or his bed) and transfer into a transport chair. This person might also need to help him transfer from the transport chair onto the toilet. D is 5'11" and about 175 lbs. He is sometimes able to help with his ambulation when he is told what he needs to do "move your left foot forward". D is only 38 and has a very happy go lucky attitude and has been very positive about his cancer, but is very much struggling now that is he is no longer able to move around on his own. Someone who is interested in gaming would be a major plus, but it wouldn't be a downfall if they weren't. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
