About who needs care: Mom is 82 with dementia, dad is 96, visually impaired and wears hearing aids. Both are ambulatory but walk with canes. She gets confused with minor household chores, needs companionship while he takes his morning walk. They dress and feed themselves and want to be independent, but they need some help with tasks such as cleaning the bathroom thoroughly, vacuuming, and laundry. She has issues with hanging up the clothes and putting them in the proper place so she can find them again. They love the SF Giants baseball, and watching TV- tennis, movies, baseball and football. The are kind and jovial people, do get out with friends and family weekly. Their main goal is to stay in their home the rest of their lives. About the care needs: Kind, caring people who just want to be helpful and hang out for an hour or 2 per day, be sure they have taken their meds (on a schedule- alarmed and already set up). Maybe encourage mom to take a walk outside the house occassionally. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
