About who needs care: A peaceful 80-year-old Gentleman who enjoys relaxing in his sit to stand lounger, taking naps and watch the news on tv. He requires help sitting and standing, with toileting and showers. He lives with his daughter who caregivers for him in the evenings. She has a practical understanding of his day to day needs and partners with AM caregiver. Clients only concern is his hygiene. He prides himself on being showered and in clean clothes. Condition: Parkinson disease with full mental capacity (with forgetfulness of normal 80-year-old). He eats by himself, can use a walker and polite/respectful. On the quiet side but is friendly. Typical morning: He gets out of bed, takes a shower, brushes teeth and puts on a fresh disposal underwear and fresh clothing. All assisted. He has a walk in shower for safety and occasionally he needs a shave with electric razor (he gets his hair done at barber). He takes 4 pills in the am with apple sauce. Caregiver tidies up the room, handles laundry and takes out trash. Meanwhile he stands at his chair does his exercises. I put his breakfast yogurt in the mini fridge and he has an electric kettle for a tea beverage, caregiver serves. Dirty dishes go back into mini fridge and are cleaned in PM (by me). Before caregiver leaves he does a 10 min backyard lounge or walk in the sun with caregiver - then back to his chair. We air out the room/attached bathroom daily at this time. **occasional trip to drs office. Mileage reimbursed. No other errands required. About the care needs: Ideal candidate: caregiver speaks Japanese or somewhat familiar with the culture and has an upbeat, caring and positive attitude. Someone who will wear a mask, as at his age he is immunocompromised to colds. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
