About who needs care: My father is 81 and has Parkinson's as well as a bad back and very weak legs which make walking very difficult even with a walker. He has been getting PT and OT which we plan on continuing. Mostly standing and walking a little plus light weights. The rest of the time just sitting or resting in his bed. We have ordered a hospital bed and have the walker and wheelchair. He is in diapers, but can sometimes use the toilet with help. He likes to sit by his computer in his office or on the couch in the living room to watch News all day. We will need help in the morning to get him up, dressed for the day, and exercised after breakfast, after which they can go home. We will need them again in the early evening to get him ready for bed and to give him his meds. Then staying till the late evening and getting him into his bed to sleep, after which they can go home. he will also require a shower (which he will need complete care for) 3 to 4 times a week. This can be given in the late morning before the am caretaker leaves for the day. He will require assistance stepping into the shower and out of the shower and will need assistance in washing certain unreachable spots. We will require a male caregiver. Thank you! About the care needs: He enjoys fine wines and has quite a collection. He is a birdwatcher. He likes to talk politics and finance. Someone who could bring him out of his shell a bit would be wonderful as he tends to be quite introverted. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
