Updated day of week: Mom is a healthy and mobile, English fluent, first generation Cantonese immigrant with moderate Alzheimer's who needs constant supervision. Dad needs a weekly break from the supervision for a 2-3 hours to reconnect socially and pursue his interests. During his Tuesday break, mom needs to go for a walk, engaged in conversation, and be driven to weekly hair appointments. Once a weekly pattern is established and trust is built, we hope to increase the hours. About the care needs: Companion should have a safe driving record, engage conversationally with dementia patients. It would be helpful if the companion has an interest in flower arrangements, know how to safely use gym equipment, and walk for at least 20 min (moderate speed). Help with changing bed sheets and the slow purge of clothes helpful.
