About the job
About who needs care: I live in a busy household with loving family. I have some memory issues. They dont like to leave me alone. I need some assistance with toileting, but have a surgery coming up that may fix that. I need meals prepared and cannot figure out the smart tv. Looking for a dumb one. Need help with hearing aids. Love to eat out and go on walks, in chair until surgery, hope to be moving on my own again. Dont be surprised if we spend a lot of time with family. I also need help with housework. I seem to be pretty messy with the poligrip in the bathroom sink. Sorry about that. I go through chucks, lots of laundry and clothes changes, stuff like that. I love happy smiling people and am generally happy and easygoing myself. Youll have to be an energetic self starter to stay ahead of me, but there are times for breaks. About the care needs: With memory issues, affect is important. I respond to the cues around me. So smiles and staging the end and beginning of activities makes for a smooth day. I love dancing and music and art. I was a Beatnik. I love a wicked sense of humor. I laughed at Monk. I laughed harder at Desperate Housewives! I like real Rock n Roll played a bit loud. Swing and Lindy dancers on YouTube. And if you catch me walking by, Ill dance with you, but I probably wont stand up from a comfortable chair to start. I used to dance long dances for 24 hours straight. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
