About who needs care: My mother-in-law does not like change and would rather not have a caregiver, but her family and her MD all agree that the time has come when going without is not a good idea. She fell in early July, ended up with compartment syndrome, had a fasciotomy and spent six weeks combined in the hospital, most of that time was very much bed bound. Her biggest issues are fall risk, mental and physical stimulation, lack of food consumption. She is headstrong and independent. About the care needs: Someone who is emotionally mature, a good work ethic, self-starter but also listens to / hears both the client and her family, willing and able to cook MIL's recipes, Someone who knows how to balance observation, care, and space. Someone willing to assist with exercises even to the point of doing them with her. Support, encouragement with mental stimulation to assist with age related cognitive decline. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
