About who needs care: Support for two neighbors in the 80s. One female with dementia, short term memory loss, but otherwise in good health. Her husband has some potential disorientation. They need support for organization of life, an sympathetic ear and just an overall sense of help with daily life. About the care needs: The husband is very proud and wants to be able to handle everything himself. They both want to be "fine" but are dealing with the reality and lots of fear coming up that they are not fine. They have no family or close friends supporting them. They have been calling the police a lot concerned that they have been robbed which is more likely their own tendency to become confused and misplace things. They have isolated themselves quite a bit. They need a steady person who will no push but is also proactive. They have not set up a plan for their aging and most likely need a calm and caring guide to help them stay in their home for as long as possible. They were avid sailors, loved to travel, and still have a beautiful boat. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
