About who needs care: I had a stroke in my early 40's, and have limited mobility on the right side of my body. I am able to walk with a cane but only have the use of one hand. I also have a resulting brain injury called aphasia, but I am able to communicate pretty well. I am looking for assistance twice a month to help with various things like booking appointments, driving me to run errands, and providing companionship for me and my two pugs. I am looking for a part-time caregiver who is willing to work closely with me in a collaborative manner (meaning, I like to help as much as possible), someone who is kind and compassionate. I only need about 4-5 hours a day/twice a month, can be flexible with the schedule. About the care needs: I am looking for a caregiver who is patient and compassionate, able to make phone calls to doctors offices/etc, and help with other errands such as grocery shopping. I like to be involved as much as possible with my care, so ideally my caregiver is willing to work with me and support me in this endeavor. I would like to take short walks and maybe swim if it's possible, cook, and have a cup of tea together. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
