My mother lives in a private apartment at a group residence. She's 80 but having an increasingly hard time with memory and accomplishing simple to-dos. Her two daughters do not live nearby. We would like someone to check my mom's phone texts, remind her of appointments, help with simple tasks such as changing a lightbulb or moving a box, and occasionally drive her on errands - grocery store, doctor's offices. Sometimes she just gets anxious and needs someone to reassure her everything's okay! She's very friendly and appreciative, but embarrassed by her neediness, she likes talking about literature, travel, movies and politics/current events. She is a former teacher (Spanish and English), college counselor and therapist.
