About who needs care: Husband has mild to moderate vascular dementia. He is fairly sociable. It would be ideal to have someone to accompany him on a walk, engage in simple tasks, puzzles or games, etc. The time would ideally be structured with some physical activity, some conversation and some interactive endeavor. About the care needs: Someone who is outgoing and chatty in personality, someone who can reorient a sometimes negative disposition, who likes talking about sports perhaps, and someone who may be good at encouraging participation even if the cared-for person is reluctant. Services needed include: companionship.
