About who needs care: Mobility issues, he has had several falls and needs supervision. Some basic physical therapy would be helpful. Vascular dementia slowly getting worse, memory issues and hallucinations on occasion. Needs soft or puree food due to swallowing issues, may need help eating, bathing, taking meds etc. Would likely need visits daily, but not full time care. Emergency on call service would be nice if available. My mother handles most of his care now but she works full time and we live 30 mins away so she cannot be there daily. I am reaching out on her behalf. About the care needs: Someone with experience dealing with dementia and cognitive issues would be a bonus. A calm patient person ideally. Reliable and trustworthy very important. Someone good at communicating with our family and being available for questions is a must. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
