About who needs care: otherwise healthy and independent 80-year-old, temporarily living with us in Menlo Park as she undergoes extended treatment for a rare cancer. ESL / first language is Japanese. The caregiver must have the patience to speak slowly and repeat their words or try different ways of explaining things verbally. I need backup care for the times when both my spouse and I have to be out of town. Relatively light duties such as driving my mother to infusion treatments or medical appointments, making sure she eats dinner, and light housekeeping such as folding laundry or emptying the dishwasher. If the caregiver is also interested in occasional babysitting of our 8-year-old, all the better! Position requirements: proof of current flu and COVID vaccinations, clean driving record, relevant reference(s).
