About who needs care: The person in need of care has early to middle stage Dementia and lives off Summit Rd approximately 1/2 mile from the freeway. Her short term memory is generally poor. She cannot drive. Her overall organization skills are deteriorating. She is frequently confused, misplaces things and her ability to manage her electronics (iPhone), prescriptions, cooking and cleaning is diminishing. Much of her day is spent walking her property, reading newspapers and watching TV with her poodle. She still enjoys walking and gardening, but needs to be accompanied on long walks (up to 1 mile round-trip) off of her property. She is independent on her ADL's at this time.
About the care needs: Generally patient, easy going and flexible because she is in denial regarding some of her limitations. Prefer someone capable of helping her with her phone (i. e. check for missed calls/texts), able to walk up to a mile, able to assist with cooking, willing to do light cleaning, and able to drive her to appointments on occasion. Memory care experience is a plus.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
