About who needs care: He has congestive heart failure and is required to take daily medication for it, which he will need to be reminded of. He will also likely be getting heart surgery soon for an ongoing condition. Lately he has been experiencing some confusion and forgetfulness, which is why we are looking into getting a caretaker for him. He is kind, and will love to tell you all of his war stories. He has multiple cars he used to love working on, enjoys reading mystery books, and spending time with his family. We are trying to get him back to a place where he can maybe do these things again, as he has been experiencing a lack of energy and motivation. From then it is somewhat unstructured and involves him running multiple errands to the supermarket or store, as well as making lunch or dinner. We are looking to have him more on a schedule with increased enrichment through conversation and activities, or potentially short walks once he is feeling capable. About the care needs: Someone who is no-nonsense when it comes to providing him care and reminding him of medications, etc., but can also provide companionship, humor, and light-heartedness and he can have the tendency to be somewhat intense. Someone who is also patient. Speaking Spanish would be a plus! Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
