About who needs care: I have ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), and just came home from a hospital stay. This is a fairly rare condition and while familiarity with the disease would be preferred, it is not a requirement. I am a total dependent transfer, so caregiver should either be very strong or have a working knowledge of a Hoyer lift. My husband is my primary caregiver, but I am at a point where I can no longer be left alone for long periods of time. His work hours fluctuate, so I am looking for a caregiver (or caregivers) who don't need a regular schedule week to week. About the care needs: Again, I am a total dependent transfer so I need someone who is strong or is familiar with a Hoyer lift. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
