About the job
About who needs care: My father was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. He had a lobectomy and is recovering more slowly than we had anticipated. He is very self sufficient but is getting exhausted more easily and needs help with cooking meals, laundry, and companionship. He is very introverted and quiet, has a small dog named Moose, and lives in a 50+ community. I live in Virginia and cannot help him myself and need someone to go over two times a week to give him a hand with household chores and to keep an eye on him. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who can provide my dad with help around the house, is good with dogs and can respect his space while they are there. He is very introverted and does not chat much until he feels comfortable. He gets easily over stimulated and prefers someone who has a calm and quiet personality. He loves to read, loves watching sports and is a news junkie. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
